The Rythym of my Flow
Warning: honesty ahead
Back when I was 16, you couldn’t stop me from writing. Creativity seemed to flow through my brain through a hose the diameter of my wrist, just pumping out words onto paper. I had to buy more notebooks not for school purposes, but to hold everything that came out when I was so busy not paying attention to class.
I had never been in love then. At least not the kind...

“‘Let me simply say I feel like the old Alan Sillitoe short story ‘The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Runner,’ ” he (Blago) said. “And that’s what this is by the way, a long-distance run.”
If I remember the story correctly, it’s about a boy who likes to steal things and then purposely fails to win a cross country meet for his prison just so...

Running Streak List →
Here’s the answer: Yes, still running.
One runner, Mark Covert, is listed as having run every single day since July 23, 1968. He’s 58, so that means the last day he didn’t run he was a teenager. Wow.

Resolutions 2009
Last year I made like five new years resolutions and I typed them up and tried really hard. I’ve kept one for sure and maybe two, I’ll have to go back and look at the exact wording.
I’m not making a resolution this year. I believe 2008 has been evidence that if I do what I think is right and surround myself with good people and healthy habits, things will turn out all right....

Against iPods
bethylefty:
I don’t know where the switch came from, I don’t know when it flipped. I can’t say that I will never want an iPod again - even this weekend I had wanted one. But it’s become liberating for me to realize that, in many cases, not only do I not need a self-created bubble of sound and psychology to get through the day, but I enjoy not having one. Despite all the annoyances and...

They’re BARBIES. Even at a very young age, most children I think can distinguish fantasy from reality. I had a lot of Barbies and I consider myself relatively well adjusted; we need to get over it.
Secondarily, as someone who has collected Barbies, you can tell from the price range whether one is intended as a toy or for collectors… $25 and under is usually toy range (maybe...

Marketers taught us this. Marketers taught well-fed consumers to want to eat more than we needed, and consumers responded by spending more and getting fat in the process.
Marketers taught to us amplify our wants, since needs aren’t a particularly profitable niche for them.
Damnit.
To add to this, it also makes me want to buy things for other people, too....

Kicked by a Running Shoe - WSJ.com →
Seriously? I can’t remember the last pair of running shoes I’ve had that last more than four months. My marathon training shoes didn’t even make it three months.
Stores would be in remiss to take back anything someone has had more than 30 days. Manufacturers, I can see them being on a case-by-case basis. But I don’t think many people will help you out on four-month-old...

You can SEE it in that clip of John and Yoko, how she’s stripping him of the sense of humor. I’m dying to go back and watch the Beatles’ movies… they clearly get less funny as time goes on (see Magical Mystery Tour).
